Protect Storage Groups wizard
Storage groups are a collection of devices that are stored on the array, and an application, a server, or a collection of servers use them.
Steps
Use the
Protect Storage Group wizard to go through the process of protecting your storage group.
Depending on the capabilities of the storage system, the following options may be available:
- Snap/VX—For instructions, see Create snapshots. Snap/VX is the default method for storage systems.
- Clone using TimeFinder/Clone—For instructions, see Clone storage groups.
- Snapshot Policy—For instructions, see Associate snapshot policies to a storage group using the storage group Protect wizard. Snapshot Policies are only available for storage systems running PowerMaxOS 5978 Q3 2020 and later.
- SRDF—For instructions, see Protect storage groups using SRDF. SRDF is available for storage systems, subject to connectivity rules.
- SRDF/Metro—For instructions, see Protect storage groups using SRDF/Metro.
- SRDF/MetroDR—For instructions, see Create a SRDF/Metro Smart DR environment. SRDF/MetroDR is only available for storage systems running PowerMaxOS 5978 Q3 2020 and later.
- PowerProtect Storage Direct—For instructions, see Protect storage groups using PowerProtect Storage Direct.
